Killing time

This is what happens when you're waiting in the car for more than an hour while your baby sleeps and your husband is getting a check up at the hospital.

Then when I turn around to take a picture of my sweet lil Lealah, she gives me a smile in her sleep. Just melts my heart...

Bon Appetit

Some of the delicious ingredients for our meal. Including chicken broth made from the bones fromt he chicken that we cooked.

Check out my Father-in-law. Doesn't he look like a real chef?
Living in Utah, we haven't had much exposure to French food.  French cuisine is known as one of the most sophisticated food in the world so we went all the way to Paris to check it out!  What better way to learn about french food than to learn to cook it with a chef!

My father in law has spoiled us by bringing us here to Paris for his company trip including the cooking class we got to attend today.  We had a small group of about 10 people so the atmosphere was nice and cozy.  Our chef taught us some great little tricks for cooking and we learned to cook our own lunch!

Our menu consisted of an egg Quiche with mushrooms & parmesian cheese, chicken roast stuffed with Duck liver, prunes & Puree'd chicken, and the most delicious chocolate mini cakes made from scratch.  It was one of the best desserts we had ever had.  I have to say I'm not the biggest fan of duck liver but everything was DEEEEElicious!

Chantilly in color

The day started off a little gloomy as the sky was filled with clouds and the streets drenched in rain.  We were hoping it wouldn't rain all day since we drove off to a little "Italian" city about an hour away from Paris on the way to the Castle of Chantilly.  The little town had such beautiful little stores and the streets were filled with vendors selling everything from books to Fish. I think the rain knew we were going to enjoy ourselves regardless of the rain... so the rain stopped  and the weather turned out to be perfect after all.  Although I have to say, rain in Paris is still quite romantic.

I got to grab one of the best cone of vanilla & strawberry swirl ice cream and dine inside the Chantilly itself.  We had Duck liver with salad as an appetizer ( which I didn't really enjoy), Chicken with some of the best rice I've ever had and the "best dessert" we've ever had... This came from my hubby so you know it was good!

The Castle of Chantilly was absolutely breathtaking (pictures to come later!) There were beautiful tree lined streets and it was filled with fresh air.

The toy store was filled with beautiful toys and puppets... I just couldn't find the "right" gift for Lealah bear...
This Old couple just made me smile.  They were holding hands as they were shopping for fish & wine.
Me walking out of the ice cream shop HAPPILY eating my ice cream cone... Hubby walking around and enjoying the amazing architecture.
Our tour guide said that it took about a hundred years to complete everything as each decade they would focus on one part to build... The details on the buildings were just incredible. I wonder if their vanity purely motivated them to build such a beautiful castle or just the determination to create something stunningly beautiful...
This was the duck liver salad... Being the classy folks that we are, we thought that it was really bad Puree'd salmon.

First night in Paris

Did we mention we're in Paris?  My father in law brought us here as a graduation present for my husband!  He had earned his way to an all expense paid trip for 2 for his company and decided to take me and my husband along with him on this trip! ( I know... I have the best father in law in the world.)We arrived in Paris on Monday night after hardly getting any sleep on the plane. But who really needs sleep when you're in Paris!  The city is just breathtaking and more beautiful than I ever imagined. I've  yet to see something that isn't pleasing to the eye.

The streets, the cafe's the people and the buildings are simply romantic. I feel like we're on our 2nd honeymoon and being completely spoiled by my father in law. Our room is just a little romantic room with soft white curtains and white bedding. The bathroom itself makes me giggle like a little girl. I feel like I'm in a beautiful scene in a french movie.

We went to the Welcome party at our hotel (Le Grand hotel) in the Opera room to kick off the company trip and I have to say I had never seen anything like it. I couldn't help myself but to stare in awe at the architecture and the details that went into the room itself.

We couldn't have started out our 1st day in Paris any better. The hors d'oeuvres, the music, the room and the company was absolutely perfect. I can't wait for tomorrow to come along.

I still have time

Although the house is almost all boxed up and we're busy running around cleaning up the house, wr still have time to go to the library.

Lealah worked on some stuff on the computer...at one point she got so busy with whatever she was doing that she took off her shoes and used 2 keyboards at once.

We love the Library.

Over...over

So as we're packing away for our big move, we found these walkie talkie watches! We have been totally working it... Our sophosticated conversation goes something like this:

Me: honey I'm hungry. Over.
Hubby: me too. Over.
Me: let's eat soon. Over.
Hubby: agreed. Over.

Miracle on 34th st.

Just when you think you can't love anyone more than your husband,
you get to experience a little miracles that makes you love more than you ever thought you could...
that little miracle for me is my little Lealah bear.
Even if she claims my husband as "mine" and pushes me away when I try to hug him,
She's the only one I'm willing to share my hubby with.

I guess you can get away with anything if you're that cute ( yes I'm completely bias)
The sun was out and she went exploring with Auntie Noel.
She put on her hat that her Granny got her and went for a stroll.
What did you find Lealah?

We love sunny days.
